Liberative Reflective Practice - Deconstructing BHM

Our liberative reflective practice session this month is centred around Black History Month.

Every year predominately white institutions organise talks, forums, events and sessions around the topic of Blackness, Black history and, occasionally race.

These events are often deemed to be for us but are they really for us? Who does BHM serve? How do we as therapists and academics celebrate and acknowledge Blackness in institutions that uphold and are entrenched in whiteness?

This reflective practice session we're taking time to decolonising Black History Month and reflect on what it means to us.
